Chinese New Year 2006 - First Day

Gong Xi Fa Cai

I actually could wake up to Andy's morning call. Amazing. Couldn't believe I slept at 4 and woke up at 7. I think I was mad. And I actually contemplated not sleeping at all. Wonder if I could even survive later on in the day. Haha.

Service was different today. Though it was the first day of Chinese New Year, many still showed up in service punctually, and with appropriate attires. Would like to compliment Jerome's mom on that nice top, Jerald's mom on that black-and-red top, and Keith's mom on that beautiful one-piece purple. It was such a joy to see everyone in the festive mood.

Worship was lead by Charlene, and was kept short because we planned to end service by 9.30am so that everyone could go visiting.

And it was so deja-vu when you enter church for CNY service and you see these on the table. Everyone gets one. What a thoughtful gesture from the church. I really like it, because I needed a bag for my oranges, and it just happened that these served the purpose.

And because I came earlier than 8.30, I decided to take my camera and started snapping pictures of the youths.

Me and John

David and Me

And Jireh was wearing a seamless T which he went around talking about it. I thought it was quite amazing how they could actually sew a T-shirt seamless at the sides.

Jerald was also wearing a cool shirt from Bossini. I won't be putting the pic up cos I think it's too blurry. But well worth the mention.

Didn't take a photo with Jerome. I thought his grey top was nice. Pity I couldn't find time to have a photo taken with him.

This was a rather cute photo. I couldn't understand what was Jannen biting, but it was a good shot.

And I felt this looked too much like a family portrait. Lolx. Grace is such a cute and bubbly little gal, such a joy to see the smile on her face.

And I would really want to compliment Pastor for the wonderful 20 minute sermon that he did. Good Job Pastor!! Keep it up!!

Just imagine.. Service every Sunday starts at 9.30, and ends at 10.30!! Wow!

Dream on Peter..

Lolx. I don't think Pastor would heed this piece of trash. Haha.

Andy and Aaron had time to spare before heading for a visit to their Grandma. So we decided to have lunch at MOS Burger in AMK. My goodness, Singapore is a ghost town man..

MOS Burger was quite quiet, but I was greeted by a very pleasant-looking service staff by the name of Fiona I think. Lolx. I can imagine all of you rolling your eyes. Haha.

We had a great time of eating lunch. Went to the washroom and when I got back to open the milk sachets for my milk tea.. It was all bubbly and foamy. Thanks ah Andy. While I went to the washroom, my bro here took the sachets and shook them so hard they foamed inside. Good job there ah.. Teh Ping Foamy..

And halfway through our meal, Ben and Ken called up to say that they were done visiting..

WHAT?!?!

So fast? It was only 11.50 and they were done. And they suggested 'business' after Aaron and Andy's visit. I figured it would take some time so I went home for lunch cooked by my mom.

Fish Porridge. Delicious. I've decided. Next year onwards. I will ask the youths a month in advance to visit them on CNY, so that at least my first day won't be at home rotting. Yes, I don't go visiting. Haven't done visiting with my chinese family for, er, 5 years?

Went to take a power-nap. Was hoping to catch an hour of sleep and suddenly..

*BANG BANG BANG*

Sarah: Can I use the com? Very fast one.. Please.. Very Urgent!!

Ya, there goes my sleep.. I allowed her to use after much reluctance and guess what she used it for.. MSN.. -.-''' Important ah.. Important..

And she took half an hour. Very fast ah.. very fast..

And when she finally had said what she wanted, she logged off and asked me to wake her up to go 'business' with us later.. When did she cultivate this 'interest' to do 'business' ah?

Anyway, I met Ben and Ken at Meridien for 'business', and they seemed very sian. I don't know why, but they both seemed to be the only ones in the shop. Talk about ghost town..

When Andy and Aaron finally came around 3, we did 'business' for an hour, before we headed down to Plaza Singapura. Deja Vu.

And they wanted to watch Fearless. Wow, this day seems kinda of familiar aye? After much persistence, they actually got me to fork out $9.50 to watch a show I've watched just yesterday again.. Why couldn't we 'I Not Stupid 2' or 'Fun with Dick and Jane'.. Those are nice shows too what..

Anyways, the show was at 8.40pm, and we were 3 hours early? So, what did we decide to do? More 'business' I guess. Went Paradiz and had a great time. Looks like we're doing well, we're not gonna go down that easily right!!

And talking about Deja Vu. Guess what we had for dinner before the movie. Long John's.. Goodness, what can surprise me more..

Eh you guys copy me la.. I buy 'cheese' sauce, you guys also buy. But very nice right? Imagine eating that sauce with nachos in the movie.. Heavenly man..

Won't elaborate on the show. You guys know what to do if Peter actually spends $19 on a movie.. Just go watch it, you won't regret it. And that Japanese Fighter is so cool la! His eyes are so piercing, and his dimple on his left side is so distinct. Go gals, go and watch it now!! While Stocks Last!!

After the movie, Ben and Ken decided to do more 'business' at Paradiz with Ben's friends. Of course, being the good kids that we are, and not wanting our parent(s) to worry.. Me, Aaron, and Andy decided to head home..

And so that practically summed up my entire day. Was meant to be a day of rest but it kinda was very different from what I anticipated. Oh.. And my health is so bad. I gag so much I actually fear eating. I'm so afraid I will puke everything out.

Please pray for me guys. This is my third week of illness. I really need to be healed. Will be going to see the doctor on Tuesday.

Well, tomorrow we're going to Rachel's house! An opportunity for me to take more photos and it'll be my first time in her house! So cool!

Ok, I'm going to end here. Remember to come tomorrow, and don't be late. It's 4pm. Remember to bring your oranges and get ready to say your blessings ah.

Ok see ya tomorrow guys and gals!

God Bless!
