Ego Boost

It's not everyday you get an ego boost you know. It just happens it seems to be that time of my life when people start complimenting me one after another. And yes, I'm flattered. Well let me just talk about these few incidents then.

As I was working and attending to my guests in TCC, I was serving table 5. And it just happened the guy (about 25+), suddenly commented on my hair. "Your hair is very cool, very spiky." And not more than 2 hours later, as I was serving table 3, a lady commented, "I was just talking to my friend about keeping short hair. Maybe I should keep my hair like yours, it's very cool."

Both comments left me stunned for about 2 seconds? I didn't know how to react. So I merely gave them a smile and they continued on with their drinks and food. Alright, that aside.

My collegue was feeling hyper one day, and decided to write stuff on her order sheets. So, she passed me the sheet she was writing and this is what she wrote..

Hi! I think you're cute!!!

What was I to say man. I told her I didn't know how to reply her, so she told me saying 'thanks' would do. And that was what I did. Deep down, my ego was inflated. =)

So these happened in TCC. What about other than these. Probably one of the biggest compliments was about my age. Well, yes it's good to look younger than your current age, but not to the extent of 'wearing school uniform' right? Let me tell you what happened.

Remember the night we went to play pool after Justus' birthday party? Jon was there earlier and he had his friends, Ye Kai and Tim there. So after Tim introduced himself, he asked me something that made me and Jon literally break out in cold sweat.

"Oh, hi Peter. So.. You sec what now?"

"Er. Err. Errr. Errrrr. Sec 4 only la.." I replied.

"Don't listen to him la. He's 20 this year."

Jon then told Tim I was 20 this year and Tim was quite shocked. He said I could pass off as some secondary school kid. I mean, imagine this. Peter, yes me. Walking down Orchard Road, in school uniform. The thought itself freaks me out man.

So after about an hour later, Tim's friend came and Tim asked him to guess my age when I wasn't listening. And as I was concentrating on the game, Tim called me over and said.

"Hey Peter, this is my friend Jonathan (lolx, 2 Jonathans), and he thinks you're 16."

=.='''

What was I to say man. Lolx. But it's all good man. I don't mind more people saying such stuff about me. And no compliment beats the ones given to you by your parent. I was blogging on Sunday and my mom came in. She saw my blog and wanted access to it, so I wrote down my address for her. So, she say my lovely filmstrip (yes, I'm very proud of it), and asked me this,

"So, anyone said you're handsome?"

Whoa.. My mom said that? Amazing. I mean, nothing (seriously nothing) can beat that. You guys should get your parents to compliment you man. The feeling is beyond compare. Of course there are many more that I would love to acknowledge, but that will take me another 2 hours of typing? Lolx. Gina, Vanessa, Isaac, Aunty Anna, and the list goes on.

I don't know how to end this post. Just want to say I appreciate all the compliments you guys give, and don't worry, I won't be 'big-headed' about it. It reminds me that I must never hold back my compliments, and always let it out if the person deserves it.
