Love - Immeasurable

A simple word with such profound meaning.

A deep, tender, ineffable feeling of affection and solicitude toward a person, such as that arising from kinship, recognition of attractive qualities, or a sense of underlying oneness.

Wow. God feels all that towards us? Amazing. I didn't even know there were words to actually describe love. I thought love was indescribable.

But indeed. God's love is not only indescribable, it's immeasurable. Limitless. Such is the love that is shown to us from the Maker of you and me. How would I ever be able to grasp the love that is shown to me?

God, thank you for showing me love in so many ways. Through the people, through the Word, through the visions. Unfathomable are you God, your love knows no bounds.

On the other hand, how many of us have tasted love from another? To be loved by a brother or a sister in Christ. To experience something special from the people who care for you, and want to be a blessing to you. Blessed are these who follow in the footsteps of Jesus, for they have truly been touched by God's love, and want to show others this love too.

And of course. We have the butterflies in our stomach. Everyone probably has had an experience of such before. That someone who makes you go gaga. I admit, I like that feeling, the feeling of being romantically in love. Be it a crush, or someone more, that someone makes you happy.

And then, the most powerful love that could be shown by another human. A mother's love. People do admit that a mother's love is probably just after the love shown by God. Being brought up by my mom, I couldn't agree more. And sometimes, I feel unworthy of such a deep love. When I see moms praying alongside their children at the altar, and tears streaming down their face, the picture alone is enough for one to believe.

So much that my mom has done for me, sometimes too much. And I feel indebted my whole life. What makes a mom still love so much when faced with countless disappointments? And then, there's my spiritual mom. Someone whom never received recognition from my entries. I never talked about her, about how she's blessed me in so many ways.

Last sunday, as I was standing in the youth worship, God spoke to me.

"Why so dry? Why so dry?"

I didn't know what it meant. And God told me to intercede for the youths. And so I lifted my hands, both cupped like a bowl, and tears just came down. God showed me a vision.

I saw so many youths, with so much hurt, with so much pain. And my heart became burdened with these. And I prayed hard, asking the Lord for a pouring. A pouring of His spirit on these.

Sermon was great and I thank God that Pastor gave an altar call. And the altar was filled with people with needs. I don't know what you guys are hurting for, I don't know what you guys have been crying for, but I know one thing. There's always this bottle, collecting all your tears, and these drops are precious in His eyes. And remember this. Your Father is always there, squatting down, ready to carry you on his back, until you are ready to walk again.

One last thing. I know it takes real faith to write this. But I am going to believe that God will bring to pass what I heard. Remember Pastor Julie Khoo asked us to pray for those who were to be baptized in tongues? I prayed for Jerald and Edward. God told me something about Edward, but I never shared it with anyone. And I don't want to keep it to myself anymore.

He said He will break the curse off both Edward's ears. That, very soon, Edward would not need those aids anymore. Guys, I need you to help me on this one. Pray together with me for Edward alright? I am not ashamed of my faith anymore. I believe God will deliver, and until then, I'll be right here praying.

I know I have written a bit tonight. And I don't know if you guys survived till this far, or if you just speed read. But I hope that you will pray hard for our youths. For those who are hurting - Physically, Emotionally, and Spiritually. Faith shall arise among us. Amen?

Max Brenner's Chocolate

I would now want to admit a huge weakness to everyone out there. I never knew I had this weakness till today. I've got a weakness for chocolate. It makes me real happy, and high. Seriously. Chocolate in moderate amounts always made me happy, but not high. Or at least not till yesterday.

Was out with Gina and her friend, Vanessa, and boy did we walk a lot. We were practically scouring all Topshops for Gina's black top. And Vanessa's got a great top for herself. We were in Tanjong Pagar, then Orchard, and then we still went to City Hall. How's that for shopping?

And slowly but surely, we just ended up in Esplanade. Where Max Brenner's was. Man, Andy did tell me about it before, and what they served. But I never got down to trying it out. And so I did.

What better way to enjoy chocolate then with 2 ladies? Vanessa and Gina are great shopping buddies. And conversations never stayed stale. I think they made me laugh a lot, and chocolate just made it all 'high'.

And they both had great drinks. They had the same, Dark Chocolate Hug Mugs. It tasted like pure dark chocolate melted into a mug. Vanessa couldn't finish such a rich cuppa, and both of them seemed so.. so.. happy..

And what did I have? I went for Sukao (I hope I've spelt it right). White Chocolate is great. Though no cocoa butter content, the flavour is just wonderful. And I was literally drinking melted chocolate in a heated dish. Simply fabulous.

You see the spoon that stirs that beautiful concoction? It's a straw too. So after you get your white chocolate chips melted in the milk, you sip it up, and the taste and experience is really out of this world. I never knew drinking chocolate could be so enjoyable.

The face of huge content

And then I went all hyper. Not because of sugar, but because of chocolate. Gina was like that the whole day and evening, so we were used to it. But me and Vanessa never felt so weird before. And Gina never saw this side of us.

If this is the case, I want chocolate no more!! It made me so hyper. I was so 'drunk' on chocolate. We all were. Chocolate is fab, it makes people happy. Ok, I've decided. Next time you guys make me angry right, here's another to the list of things to do.

1. Make Congee
2. Ask me to get some sleep
3. Give me great chocolate!!

Wow, so many things to do if you want to make me happy. Isn't that great? Got home and slept. All the way till 6 am. That was nearly 11 hours of sleep. Chocolate makes me happy, and it's good for the mind too. You guys should get chocolate into your blood too, and don't blame me if you get real high and hyper after that. You wanted it didn't you?

The New Cathay

We were, as usual, lanning on Saturday. Just when we were about to leave for home, we decided to check the new Cathay out, which was just beside Paradiz. And guess what? We were there for a long, long time..

Here's the gallery of what we took

And after having a good time outside, we went in and checked out the inside. The shops were all still under renovations, so we went straight to the top floor to check out the cinemas.

Ah, and with all the huge posters around, we couldn't help but do some stuff with them. No worries, we didn't tear them down, just had fun with them.

Oh yes, and Pyro is in Dunamis Rock

Haha, Ben looks so serious man. Guess he really loves Pyro. Tried doing it with everyone and the different X-men but couldn't due to lighting, position, angle etc.. Haha, I sound like a professional photographer right? Couldn't believe we took so many photos here, and we had a great time. Guess when everything's ready, this will be our new hangout aye?

Alright, I'm going to meet Jon now. Hope you guys are having a great Monday. Have a great week alright!

God Bless!!

SMX Turns 21 Today!!

Happy Birthday To You
Happy Birthday To You
Happy Birthday To SMX
Happy Birthday To You!!!

Happy 21st Birthday SMX
Wishing You All The Best This Coming Year
And Always Remember This Friend You've Got
Smile Always And Stay Healthy

So, SMX aka Simon aka Frieden aka Strawberry turns 21 today. Adult now aye? The downside to this post is that there'll be no pictures. The place we went to eat was so posh, I think I would have been real embarrased to take photos. But I tell you, the food was fabulous!!

It was a 4-coursed Chinese dinner. One may not be impressed when you step into Metropole Hotel, but wait till you enter The Imperial Herbal Restaurant on the 3rd floor.

It was packed. Not only that, nearly everyone was dressed in full suits and office attire. I couldn't believe it was that posh. And to think I actually wanted to wear bermudas for the birthday dinner..

T_T *breaks down*

I'm so touched SMX!! I just feel so happy I've got friends like these. They keep on giving me treats, I really can't outgive them man. I love you guys!! You guys make my days so beautiful and I really appreciate it.

The Codfish for one of the courses was simple fantastic. It was not only cooked till perfection, flaking to the touch, the sauce was gastronomical. It was simply the best sauce in the world. No kidding man. I was joking with SMX, saying that the next time I come, I'll ask for a whole bowl of that sauce.

Another highlight was the dessert. Caramel poured over sweet potatoes and taro we presented along with bowls of cold water. What we had to do was to be fast and dip the caramelised items into the water. The result? Extreme crunch on the outside, yet piping hot and soft on the inside. A treat for the family as well as for the tastebuds.

A fabulous dinner. I had such a great time savouring such delightful dishes. SMX, I really have to admit, you never fail to grant me great meals. I am so impressed with your choice of food. Kudos man.

We got home by cab, and they rushed off to watch some show. I was just thinking. You know what? 1 month before my birthday, I'll organise some 'month-long' celebration. And I'll make sure there'll be a huge party for next year's 21st!! All who are privileged will be asked to come to join in the celebrations. How cool is that!

Ok, I'm thinking too far ahead as usual. But I really want to say 'Thank You' once again to SMX and family for such a wonderful evening. SMX, must come for the coming musical ok? Don't tell me I didn't invite you ok?

Alright, going to end here. Tomorrow is going to be a long day. Going to run some errands then going to church for rehearsals. Hope my days will stay as good as I want them to. *smiles*

Gina - Not So Average

Gina is no average gal you'll meet. She's loud, hyper, and funny. I wasn't planning to meet her after having DotA games at E-games with Shawn. But I'm quite glad we met, even though it was only for 2 hours. But over dinner, we chatted a bit and caught up with one another.

We met in Bedok and decided on Long John's (peter.. peter..). She needed air-con because she was so uncomfortable in her blazer and walking around with me. Imagine wearing a full suit and eating at the food centre, she would have collapsed from dehydration. Lolx.

Her many expressions

She didn't know I took all these, so all you guys keep it hushed ok? (as if she wouldn't read my blog, but heck anyways lolx)

The portion here was definitely more than the last time I ate at Marina Square and I was satisfied. Ok, I'm going to digress a bit here.

How important is it to impress the service staff even though you, as the customer, should be the one who's impressed? Very important. Not only you'll most probably be returned with good service, you might also have bigger portions! Here's a few tips. Gals, if you don't want to read, you can skip this whole section.

If you see a service staff who looks like she's not had a good day (fussy customers, horrible manager, difficult orders etc), it's time to put on your charm and make her day.

1. The Eyes

Your eyes are the first thing she sees. Having double eyelids work wonders for impression. People tell alot from your eyes, especially if they're well groomed (and coloured).

2. Your Smile

Must I emphasize on this one? Isn't it a 'duh'? Your smile is contagious. You smiling might just be the most beautiful thing she's seen today.

3. Your Greeting

Don't just start by placing your order. Say a simple 'hi' or 'good evening'. You'll be surprised how much that could mean to someone who's not had a single courteous customer all day.

4. Your Smell

People can smell you. Now, you wouldn't want to put her off by smelling bad ya? Moreover, there are also others in the queue. And Gina said I smelt great today, all thanks to Kenneth Cole, sponsored by my mom. (it's a cologne by the way.)

5. Saying 'Thank You'

These words are the best things to end the order. She'll be so impressed, she'll smile back. Trust me on this one. I've done it so many times, and it's worked on all occasions. Courtesy goes a long way.

Yea, so there you are. Simple things to promote better service from the service staff and in return, might just grant you more food. Haha. I'm glad I made her day, because before I came along, that service staff was pulling a black face because she just got scolded from her manager. Like I said, a little extra goes a long way. *smiles*

And so, me and Gina had such a great time talking about Shawn and her work. She was doing some survey when this 30-40 year old came up to her and asked for her msn and phone number. I was laughing my head off but she was so freaked out when she was telling me about it.

Oh yea, our food

And we were making a spectacle of ourselves when we tried to take photos together. I think the whole restaurant was looking at us. Lolx.

After dinner, she rushed me off saying she wanted to catched her baby. I didn't know who it was and she said Chris. I was like, "Chris? Which Chris?"

Gina: Oh, the rocker in American Idol

ZZzz.. What was that man. Her baby? Is he really that good? Sorry, I haven't had time to catch American Idol in a long time, so I don't really know who's hot and who's not.

Oh. And Jerome called during dinner to ask me whether I wanted to Bnet. I let him talk to Gina a bit and he said something which apparently I couldn't catch and Gina didn't want to tell me.

Gina: Sorry, it's a secret between me and Jerome..

And so, I accompanied her on the train back to Pasir Ris. Along the way, I got so bored I took a great picture of her. Doesn't this seem a little familiar?

Oh yea, now I remember

Lol. We look like some villians right? Haha. Anyway, the Taiwanese guy did call her up just before I got on my bus and she was freaking out. Lolx. Ok ok, I know it's not funny to you Gina, but I found it hilarious that a 30-40 year old would want to chase you.

Oh yea. You guys want to see a video? Gina actually said 'I Love You' to Peter. Hear that? She said she loves me. Now, don't start getting jealous. You guys should know better what she loves me for ya?

Gina, you're such a darling. Now that I've talked so much about you, when is our next date then? I want Shawn to be on our next date too.

Oh. She agrees with me that a person can tell alot from the other person by the first kiss he or she gives. Where did I learn it from? Date Movie, go catch it. Alright, I'm logging off now.

God Bless!!

Outing With Prince

We brought Prince out the other day, because it was Pastor's day off and Prince would be bored stiff at home. So, the youths (Me, Joram, Janine, Yuxuan), decided on a day out for good food and a movie. Prince, you can show this blog to your friends and family back in Thailand to tell them you're doing real fine. *smiles*

I arranged to meet Janine and Yuxuan at 10 am but was late. And then we proceeded to meet Joram in Chinatown for brunch. For most of us, it was the first meal of the day. And it was just so nice to be in Chinatown so early in the morning.

We went to have brunch at the same place Ken swore never to eat again. For more details, go read 'Trip To Chinatown' under the incredulous reads. But the congee was fantastic and we had Chwee Kuey and Sugar Cane Juice too!

It was so filling. We thought we could survive for a dessert. But obviously we were so stuffed, no one even wanted to go for Tang Yuen. I was stuffed too, yea believe that.

So, instead of taking the MRT down to City Hall, we decided to make our way there on foot. Yes, blame me blame me. I was the one who thought it would be great to make our way down on foot. Little did I know, it was close to noon and the sun was scorching hot. Bleah.

Halfway through, we stopped at Speaker's Corner for some nice shots.

And this is another of my favourites pics now

We were standing on the stage all to ourselves. How cool was that? And we were having a great time speaking to no one. Haha. The stage looks real good, but no one seems to be saying anything there. (It's 12 noon on a Monday Peter..)

Ah, and more shots were taken.

The Singapore River (I think..)

High Street (Janine felt high)

And as the sun was taking it's toll of heat on us, we decided to stop at Funan. The main reason was to get away from the scorching heat and to enjoy the wonder of air-conditioning, the other reason was to keep a lookout for the phone Prince was looking for.

Oh. This gal took so many postcards we were so close to walking around in denial that we knew her. Haha. Look at how many she took!!

Maple Story (I look so tiny)

And at the top floor, we were literally stuck there for nearly 1/2 an hour. Doing what you may ask? Playing the Xbox and some 'Bejewelled' game. Prince was watching as the youths were playing on and on. And what was I doing? What else but snapping..

We couldn't find a price better than the one Pastor already has. So, Prince did not get the phone here. Moreover, it's City area. Everything seems to be so expensive.

So, we walked all the way through City Link and finally arrived at Marina Square. Pastor treated us to a movie of our choice. I didn't know what to pick, but we finally decided on 'Big Momma's House 2', which I would say was worth $7 and nothing more. It was funny, yes, but not even close to Date Movie. Date Movie is drop-on-the-floor-in-pain hilarious. For those who can go catch it, go for it. The only down side is that it is only an hour long.

After the movie, we decided to go on a hunt for Ice Cream Uncle/Aunty. I told them we might be able to find one at Esplanade, so that's where we headed next.

And stupid photos just kept on coming.

Sit back and relax

Look into my eyes

Janine's mean streak

And no sign of Ice Cream seller. So disappointing. So we went to check out Glutton's Bay, where hopefully would sell some $1 Ice Cream.

Still no sign of Ice Cream. How sad was that. So after searching so many places, we gave up and went MarketPlace to source for vegies for Aunty Emily (Jerome's Godma), who was cooking dinner and invited Janine over.

After getting the vegetables, we then decided to head home. It was already 5 pm and we spent a long day. I took Prince back to Bishan before meeting Isaac and Claire for dinner - at the usual Prata place.

Oh. And upon reaching Bishan, guess what me and Prince saw.

You won't believe it

Lol. The ice cream man just had to appear when the ones craving for it were not around. Well, too bad I guess. Like what Janine says in her blog. It's like taxis, they're never there when you want them. Haha.

Dinner with the Duo was kinda interesting. We had great rojak, and pratas. And the bill was great too. Isaac treated me to it, and I want to say a huge THANK YOU!! I appreciate it loads man. We also stayed on to watch 'So You Think You Can Dance', and ordered drinks everytime we were ending the current one we were having.

A good day, great fellowship, and so much joy. Thanks for all the people who made this day such a beautiful one. Alright, I need to go play DotA now with the guys. Lolx. (Whatever man Peter..)

God Bless!!

Time To Fall In Love

Finally, Blogspot is well again and I can finally upload all my photos!!!

The following pictures are meant to inspire smiles. Do not comment if you don't feel like smiling even after seeing these photos. And remember, those who appear here, remember to bring these smiles back to your schools.

This is my favourite picture now. It was so nicely taken, and the cross represents my heart. It is to Christ and everyone should already know that by now. What a well taken photo man, I simply love it. Aaron took it by the way. I'm so in love with this photo. You can be too!
