Celebrating Halloween

Lolx. I wonder how many people actually celebrate Halloween? I'm definitely not one of them, nor my mom and neither my sister. However, for last night, I was called to come down by my manager from Bugis TCC for a night of fun and scary stuff.

It was Halloween night in TCC and it was way cool. They spent a bomb on the props and decorations, and everything was fantastic.

See that pic on the right? Yea, you might want to think twice thrice before getting some treats from that bowl. You might be tricked instead of treats. Lolx.

My sister wanted to join in the fun, so she kind of tricked my mom into coming to have dinner at TCC. It was a night filled with fun and laughter, it was a first for all three of us. Lolx.

My colleagues were well dressed up and the company even got extras to pose as scary characters and go around taking photos with the guests. Heh.

Here are more photos of some scary props!

she talks but she's dead

it crawls right next to ya

Yea, this stupid prop moves! No one would have thought it could, but it's controlled by someone, somewhere. Lolx. It came right up to my mom, and she got scared. Lolx.

what happened to the coffee filter?

Here are more photos of the extras taking photos with my mom, sister, and me! All 3 of us were sporting enough to take these photos. Can you believe my sister was actually afraid of taking photos with these extras? Goodness..

wahahaha, scaredy-cat

Oh, that's her secondary school friend by the way. It was weird that he was dressed up like this just for last night. Lolx. He's her band senior, and what a way to meet up again.

yea, try chopping my head if you dare

Yes, I know. I'm acting sparse in front of the camera. You know.. trying to act as if I'm really super scared. Lolx.

that's farhan!

My mom was the bomb. Her pose for the camera incurred laughter from the tables all around. She was so sporting I tell you. She said she wanted to scare the extra, instead of having him scare her. Lolx.

see? see?!

Lolx. My mom is still such a sport at her age. Of course, I don't have to emphasize on the food being good. Me and my sis shared a Peach Me Up with a scoop of strawberry ice cream, and it was gooooood.

Guess where we went after TCC? My mom took her bike, while me and my sis walked all the way to The Cathay! My mom wanted to give us a treat to a fabulous after-meal!

hehehehe..

Ben and Jerry's!! Wee~~! How fortunate can I get in a night? It's so much fun to eat at Ben and Jerry's, though it kind of expensive. Having this reminded me of Ben telling me how good Aunty Anna makes them. I can't wait to try it one day. Yumms.

heavenly bowl of goodness

That was how we ended the night. On such a sweet note, and fabulous fellowship. Ah, the pleasures of life. Everyone should live it up like that once in a while.

Tomorrow's troubles and worries are plenty, so why not make the best of today? Ok, I'm off for some DotA now, and I'm working tomorrow! Wee~~! Bye everyone!

Xi Yan - Gastronomical

Ah, the dinner all of us have been waiting for has finally arrived. The anticipation and excitement boiled down to a night of fellowship, great food, and a memorable experience.

We were headed for Xi Yan, a private dining restaurant serving Asian Cuisine. Haute cuisine to be more precise. Their service, food, and presentation was something that you will not get even in fine dining restaurants. You see, in private dining, the service is so detailed, you actually know how the dish is prepared and what goes in it, before you even taste it.

It was Gordon's treat to both my mom and me. Our birthdays both fell in the month of October, and he wanted to give us something special. I turned 20 and my mom 47. But Xi Yan has a policy that a minimum of 6 have to attend for a table, and only 4 tables are allowed in every night. Weekend slots may need a few weeks to months of reservation in advance. You do not get to choose what you eat, but a disgustation of 12 courses will be served up. These 12 courses will be selected by the chef, someone I've come to really admire very much after this fabulous dinner. So, since we only had 4, Gordon suggested that the other 3 sisters join in the dinner as well. And yes, he paid for all of us.

the family before the dinner

the birthday boy looking all set

And as you can see, everyone was dressed up to the occasion. Gordon had a great white top, and my mom had a beautiful black dress that accentuated her slender figure. My sister wore a beautiful one-piece, and her make-up was perfect for the night (that simple one-piece actually costs well over SGD100). Aunty Kat had a really nice belt and necklace, and Aunty Em looked great in her rebonded hair. Aunty Hong had a nice red bottom and a necklace from Swavroski. All 4 sisters wore their SGD1000+ earrings from Lee Hwa, something that they bought together a few months back.

And now, without further adue, I present to you the 12 coursed dinner.

prancing lobster with dual sauces

What a way to start the dinner! Lobster is a delicacy when it comes to chinese cuisine too. Accompanying this dish were two lovely sauces. The first milder one, was a light green tea sauce - something very refreshing and unique. The second, with a tad of spiciness, was the belachan sauce - stronger but still refreshing.

japanese tomatoes in sesame sauce

Ah, Kenneth must be screaming right now. These are the biggest tomatoes I have seen in my life! They are even bigger than apples and peaches. The bigger they are, the more juicy and sweeter they are. The sesame sauce was so good, everyone now wants to make it at home and eat it with tomatoes. Tomatoes never tasted so good.

fermented bean curd fried oysters

One will not even have tasted the fermented bean curd if one was not told. These heavenly bits were coated with potato flour, instead of the usual bread crumbs, to prevent overwhelming the taste of the delicate oysters.

abalone somen

Ah, fabulous somen with abalones! The spendid noodles were al-dente and simply mouth-watering. I won't even need to empasize on the abalone, who doesn't love abalone cooked till perfection?

prawn with crab roe tofu

When this dish came, everyone wowed. It looked so beautiful one may hesitate to glutch it down. The prawns were huge and juicy, and the tofu was silky and smooth.

Throughout the whole dinner, I had intervals of wine to bring the whole experience to a greater level. It was a Grenache Shiraz, relatively sweet and full-bodied, with a tinge of tannin for a good finish.

heh

crispy spareribs with tangerine peel

The spareribs were marinated overnight with tangerine, also known as the mandarin orange. The spareribs were deboned and what was left is lovely succulent meat. Biting into it, you will notice quickly the crispiness that it boasts about, and the tenderness that lies within. Due to the marination, you will also notice the sweet taste that comes from tangerine.

salivating chicken

Yes, the famous dish that Xi Yan always had since its start. This wonderful dish could not be described with many great words, so I guess they used 'salivating' because it truly is. Look at that amount of peanuts, konnyaku noodles, century eggs, and of course, chicken. Now, this is not a young chicken by the way, it is a lao mu ji (old mother hen), therefore the juiciness and tenderness that is what we savour.

canto steam fish glutinous rice

Cod cooked till perfection is what I love. How do I define perfection, you ask? It is when you gently place your cutlery on the fish, and it flakes subtilely to the touch. Accompanied by soft glutinous rice topped with chinese olives and fermented black beans, this dish was an all-rounder.

basil sorbet intermezzo

A dish for cleansing of the palate one cannot do without. The light basil sorbet is to be mixed with an array of fruits, namely the strawberry, kiwi, and mango, in a light lime juice. The taste is a mixture between sweet and sour, yet delicate and smooth.

lotus root chicken soup

Aunty Em was wondering how different it could taste from the ones we prepare at home, and so were all of us. It laid our queries to rest the moment we tasted it! Chicken and pork bones were boiled and simmered for a period of time before adding the lotus root. It was then boiled for another 4 hours before the completion of this dish. It was relatively sweet, and definitely better than any other lotus root soups I've tried before.

braised mushroom with pickled cucumber

My sister's favourite dish of mushrooms finally arrived. The cucumbers were pickled using a special recipe, giving it a strong and sweet flavour. There were 3 different kinds of mushrooms for this dish, and all of them I simply adore. They were the Japanese Shitake, Chinese Abalone, and Portobello.

Xi Yan tangyuan

We were asked to taste the 6 ingredients that went into the tangyuan, and we got 5 right! My mom is 5/6 a gourmet, and I am pretty amazed at her tastebuds.

1. Sugar
2. Butter
3. Sesame Seeds
4. Peanuts
5. Winter Melon
6. Salted Egg Yolks

Ah! Who would have guessed the salted egg yolks? I only noticed its taste after they told me what went in, and this tangyuan is really one I'll never forget. The soup was a sweet ginger soup, that some of us felt was a bit too spicy. However, one bite into the tangyuan and you know you're in heaven.

We thought that was the end of our 12 courses but they came shortly after clearing our bowls with a nice end to it all.

Xi Yan cocktail

What a great way to end the meal! A mixture of calamansi juice, honey, and bourbon whiskey were what went into this one. The portion just nice to warm you up for bed.

The dinner left us wanting for more, but little did we realise the clock had already struck 11.30pm. How time flies when you're enjoying your time with the ones you love. Gordon received endless 'thank-you's from everyone, and a possible beating from the husbands of the 3 sisters. Uncle Kian Heng, Uncle Sze Cheng, and Uncle John were all at home with the kids, probably envious of what their wives were in for.

Nevertheless, they might visit here and get a glimpse of what happened last night. A night to remember, a night where everyone slept like a baby, and fufilled tummies that could only scream for more.

A Super Funny Video From Goong

Wah, this is probably the episode that I laughed the hardest. Super funny can!! And both Shin and Chaegyung make such a cute couple. Waa~~

Friday, October 27, 2006

YouTube Addict

Yes, I'm officially a YouTube addict. I'm stuck to YouTube almost half the entire day. Lolx.

I'm sure all of you love Goong (Palace/Princess Hours) too right?! It's so nice. I've never really loved a korean series so much till now.

That's just one of the many sweet things that Yul said to Chaegyung. He's the supposed Crown Prince but because his father passed on before the King, he is now the second in line for the throne. How sad right? Lolx. And though at first I felt he was much more worthy of Chaegyung, I know believe Shin deserves her too. He may be cold and heartless on the outside, but he knows deep inside that he loves her. Heh. You boyfriends out there who always seem cold better start warming up and show more affection for you girlfriends.

Ah, emo series like these make one feel like having a relationship straight away. Lolx. I'm sure you all who watch this series feel the same way too. I even hear their coming up with a sequel. I'm currently ahead of Channel U's broadcast! Lolx. I'm at episode 15 and Channel U is only at 12.

My sister has finished watching it though, and she told me the ending. Argh! Now I know what's to come. Lolx.

Ok, I'm going backt to watching episode 15 now. See ya!

Hari Raya - Chinese Style

So, I bet all of you know about yesterday being Hari Raya right? And I know all of you must be wondering what I did. Usually, I would be visiting my father's side of the family for the celebration, but not this year!

Woohoo!!~~

This year, like other years, I woke up early. I'm such a good boy right? Lolx. I had to join my mom and sis for breakfast! And we didn't intend on malay cuisine. Instead, we were headed for Chinatown at 9am! Zzz..

I was so tired from only 4 hours of sleep, but I was sure glad that I made it for this breakfast.

mom and sis

me and sis

And we thought it wouldn't be crowded for breakfast. We were so so wrong. Lolx. I told mom I knew it was going to be crowded. After all, we were eating at Yum Cha. *bleams*

yummy!

We thought we were in for a long wait when we saw the queue. But! We were lucky enough that the restaurant had a table for 3. Wee!!~~

The food was good, though we waited some time before even laying our hands on them. We were seated near the end of the restaurant, so the trolleys took quite a while to come. Lolx. Nonetheless! The food was great! Service too!

a glimpse of heaven

Now now. Isn't it weird? It's Hari Raya and Ridzuan's supposed to be celebrating it right? And there he was, with his mom and sis, in Chinatown! Lolx. The irony..

That Wasn't The End

Guess what?!?!

Last night's entry wasn't the end of the birthday surprises!! Grr!! My 2 angels pulled another fast one on me and I was totally taken off guard!!

At around 10pm last night, I was in my sister's room alone while the 2 angels were outside. One was tending to his toe, while the other was going to the washroom.

OR SO I THOUGHT.

The room suddenly blanked out in darkness! Oh my goodness! I was wondering what my sis did to incur such wrath of electricity! And my sis was calling out to me as if she was lost in darkness, trying to find her way back to her room.

And then! BAMMM!

The door flew open and the 2 angels appeared!

"Happy Birthday To You
Happy Birthday To You
Happy Birthday To Peter
Happy Birthday To You!!"

In Mark's hands was a beautifully lighted cake, with 2 large candles. They sang the birthday song and I was left stupified. *shocked*

the birthday cake

the birthday boy

the 2 angels and me

making my wish before blowing off the candles

act cool only..

aiyah! don't care la!

Lolx.

And after that, they blindfolded me and took me out of the house on a 'journey'. It was so dumb la! A neighbour walked past and must have thought we were crazy or something. Lolx. After almost 10 minutes of walking around aimlessly outside my house, I finally reached down timidly for the item that I was to take, thereafter walking back to my home to be de-blindfolded. Lolx.

It was snacks to last us the night! There was so much! Cheezels, Lays, and many more. Goodness. And Mark presented his present - a Billabong T, and Lanyard! It was super cool looking! Lolx.

And everything ended just before 12. My 2 angels made it all worthwhile and special. It started at 12.10am, and ended around 11.30pm. It was a birthday to remember, and I really appreciate what they did for me. *bleams*

And next saturday, Gordon is treating the 4 sisters (Mom, Hong, Em, Kat), my sis and I to a wonderful dinner! It's at Xi Yan - a private dining chinese restaurant where the chef decides on what is served. It is charged at SGD80+++ per pax! Goodness! But I'm sure we are going to enjoy ourselves. After all, it is my birthday treat from Gordon. *bleams x100*

First Number No Longer 1

Hah! So the first number of my age is no longer 1, but 2. Eeks! Although I have to say it feels rather weird turning 20 (it's just different from other ages I guess), I've really had a wonderful time these few days!

Let's start with wednesday! My mom brought me and my sis out for my birthday dinner! And I was looking forward to it, though I had been working 11 hours everyday for 3 days.

We were off for the Soup Restaurant. We didn't know much about this restaurant, nor ever tried it before. I was not really impressed with the deco, but I have to say!! The food is g-r-e-a-t!!! Absolutely good I tell you! And they live up to their name of being good for their soup! Another hot favourite would be their Samsui Chicken (that plate in the middle), an absolute must-try! Lolx. I was really really impressed with the food and service, and I will definitely bring my friends for any cravings of good chinese food. Yummy!

here's our dessert!

And then there was today! The big day yea? Lolx. Today was taken care of by 2 angels. One to my left, and the other to my right. Nah, just kidding. But it was a nice surprise, and I really appreciate it.

At around 12.10am, a sound that seemed very much like my poster dropping caught my attention. I was busy watching Full Metal Alchemist, and I turned to see what happened. And then! There it was lying on the floor! An envelope that read 'Angel Message 1'.

=.='''

The only person in my house is my sis lor. It couldn't be anyone else. Lolx. This was what was written inside.

"Happy 20th Birthday!

Rule Number One

Go sleep now!!! And follow my plans tml. Can't afford not to!!!"

So, that was the first person who wished me on my birthday. Lolx. And then the rest came in. Shortly after, Christine sent me an sms going,

"Guess who turn 20 today? Haha.. Happy Birthday Peter!!! May the Lord bless u and guide u in everything that u do!! :)"

From Andy:

"Peter! I wanna wish u a happy happy happy happy blessed birthday! I pray that God will use u and guide u in all yr ways. And most importantly bless u on yr special day! Love, andy :P"

From Mom:

"Happy 20th Birthday!"

From Gordon:

"Happy Birthday! Look 4ward to celebrating next wkend!"

Sin Eng:

"Happy birthday hor :) May God's presence be in your life everyday and remember to walk close to Him :)"

Wah, so many birthday wishes. I'm truly thankful for each and every one of them. Thanks everyone! I really appreciate it alot!

Early in the morning, I found something outside my door! Another envelope! 'Angel Message Two' Lolx. Inside, this one wrote,

"Happy 20th Birthday!

Rule Number Two

1. Wake up at eleven o'clock!
2. Bath at eleven-thirty
3. Leave house at twelve! (Must!)

You cannot be late! If not cannot make it!
cannot late. cannot late. cannot late. cannot late."

Lolx. So I went Plaza Singapura with the other angel, Mark, and he told me to go level 7. I went there and saw him carry a huge bag of snacks. It was then I knew I was up for a movie.

you me and dupree

And just as I made myself comfortable, guess what?!?! Something dropped on me!! The cinema was still lighted up so I was wondering what fell on my chest.

it was this!!

Wah! Lily leh!! Doesn't it bring back memories? Lolx. And I turned around and saw my sis!! Goodness.. I thought she wasn't coming? Mark.. You pork.. Lolx. The movie was not bad, a little stale at times. Worth the 7 but not more.

And we went to City Hall after that. They wanted to K, but it was too expensive. Moreover I wasn't looking forward to it anyway. K-box only has mostly mandarin titles, rarely good english ones. Bleah. We went Kenny Rogers instead!

wee!!

It's different now! You don't have to queue up and order at the counter. They now come to you and take your orders! Lovely! But of course, the 10% service charge now applies. Or so I think. Lolx.

The food is still as good, the chicken still as succulent as ever. Good stuff man! Lolx. I really had a good time being around these 2, they really made it all worthwhile. *bleams*

And now I'm home, finally resting from a long day. Ah, though it was long and tiring, it was well worth every second. A very huge THANK YOU to both my angels of the day. Lolx.

Oh gosh! Charmed is on! I have to go! Bye people!

Gragh.

Church - A Special Service

So! I made it to church after so long. I didn't know how to greet everyone when they saw me. I merely passed by Jerald and put down my sling on the neareast available seat. It was weird that my bag was so heavy today, but it got even heavier soon enough.

If I'm not wrong, the first person I talked to was the Queen, Janine. She was asking me why I didn't reply her when she shouted my name. Lolx. I was merely preoccupied with thoughts. Don't worry, I was not being dao. I couldn't help but notice her new hairstyle. Very chic and neat. I like the hair Janine. Cool stuff.

Aunty Anna approached me soon after and gave me an early birthday present. Man, she actually anticipated me to come even though I haven't come in the last month. Thank you Aunty Anna, I really appreciate it alot.

tommy hilfiger

cologne and deodorant

Wee!!~~ I'm a happy happy boy! Wahahahaha! I like it alot! =)

We had a special speaker today. He has played for royalties around the world (does that include you Janine?), including our very own president! He plays the harp, an instrument one may have thought to have ony belonged to ancient times. Lolx. Or at least that's what I've felt. I've never seen someone really playing the harp before, just in stories and all that.

He was g-o-o-d. Wait, not only good. Magnificent. His melodies carried themselves with such air that makes one swoon over it. He played fabulous and familiar pieces like As The Deer, and Amazing Grace. Such beauty I tell you.

There were a few other things worth mention today. Jerald is looking much better now, leaving his fringe down, thus becoming more.. erm.. how do I put it? Ah.. self absorbed (correct word - bhb).. Lolx. He must be very proud of his fringe now. Lolx.

EQ!! He has wonderful hair now. His fringe is back and his back is nice! Finally outgrew the botak head that he had, and he now looks very good!

Did I mention Janine already? Oh yea I did. The Queen with the magnificent new hair.

Jerome. He has a tail! Wahahaha, the tail that rocks the world. Ok, not that much, but still. Tails are good, they make you look cool (no. no. no! not ah-bengish ok). And his fringe is long too. Which is good! Everyone seems to finally know how to look good now, knowing that the fringe makes a whole load of difference aye?

Christine has had a new look too. Though it's been some time, but I think it's worth a mention because she looks better with her hair down. Not that she wasn't pretty before, just that she's prettier now!

Yuxuan like macham have makeover sia. He had his fringe dyed, and he now wears a pair of ultra-cool-looking specs! Wahahaha, I think it's orange and some other colour. Matches his hair and personality. Good good.

Who else who else? Elishah is so big now, and growing much cuter everytime I see him. Lolx.

Oh yes. Jon Tan!! Why I never see you in church today!! T_T Come leh.. I miss you, ya know!! Come next week leh, we have so much to catch up on.

And Pastor! Still so handsome la.. Do I need to say more? =x

Lolx. I think that's about all. I went to Pasir Ris to meet a friend for dinner, my first meal of the day, and guess who I bumped into? Ernest, Jonathan, and Shirley!! Such a coincidence right!! Lolx. Yea, they were there after church for awhile, and I saw them on their way home.

I'm dead beat. Tomorrow I'm working from 7.30am in the morning to 6.30pm in the evening. I'll need all the rest I can get. And to all of you who are bored and need an anime to watch..

WATCH FULL METAL ALCHEMIST!!!

It rocks you know!! Claire introduced it to me half a year ago and I thought it would be boring and I didn't check it out then. I SO REGRET IT! It's such a good anime!! Wah! I'm hooked onto it. Ok, enough of it now. Time to catch episode 13 now.

See ya and have a good week everyone!

Being Sick Really Sucks

How much longer must I be sick???

Lolx.

It's been almost what seems like forever. Almost 2 months of being sick is really really bad. Throat inflammations are the worst part of it all. Being able to talk is fine. But having something in there that feels like the size of a tennis ball is no joke. Grr.

Anyway, I heard there's a harp-ist (is that what you call him/her?) coming to church this sunday, and some nice guy invited me to come. Lolx. But then, I didn't even need the invitation, I am part of church. Lolx.

It would be interesting to see the melodic tunes that come from the harp. Ah, what fine culture! I hope I would be well by then, or I would still have to stay home.

*roll eyes*

*Cough Cough*

*squeal*

Me: Somebody save meeeeeee....!!
Gravija: Now now, what seems to be the problem?
Me: Help me!! I'm dyyyiiiiinnngggg!!
Gravija: Stop being such a wimp, it's just the haze.
Me: Just?!?! It's *cough cough* killing me!!

Lolx. Does anyone even bother looking out your window and see how horrendous our air has become?! Oh my goodness, it's so thick I can barely see a thing! Ok ok, it's not that bad.. But still! It's killing the people!

Mayor: Call the police! Call the ambulance! Call anyone! Argh!

Well, it's not the end of the world. Yours truly is still alive, though feeling really annoyed with this weather. If something isn't done to cure this.. this.. catastrophe, I am so getting Gravija to use his magic. Hmph!

Gravija: Now now.. I won't abuse my powers..
Me: But you can't disobey your master. *evil grin*
Gravija: *cold sweat x9999*

And guess what? Amidst this.. catastrophe, your's truly could still find the mood to self-indulge in photography! Goodness, when do I ever stop taking photos of myself? Lolx. I should consider taking photos of weirdos wearing masks on the streets soon. Trust me, they shall wear masks! Bwahahahaha!

Since I'm Bored

Before I start doing the tag that my sister asked me to do, I just want to wish Kenneth Kee a

Happy 18th Birthday!!!

Wishing you all the best in the year to come. Make sure you maintain the balance between work and play. And always remember to lean on the Lord for guidance. Have a good one bro!

And so, let's start with the tag, shall we?

- taken.

- who hasn't? the gal I liked for 7 years was one. Heh.

Q5: do you believe in some circumstances that cheating love is acceptable?
- erm, why did you even bother cheating if you truly love that person? I know that when I love someone, I give my whole heart to her. =)

Q6: would you take someone back if she cheats you?
- if I still love her then, and if she is truly repentant, yes.

Q7: have you ever talked about marriage with another person before?
- not really, my other world perhaps? Lolx.

Q8: do you want children?
- yea, of course! If only they could stay adorable forever, that'll be so so fun. I just saw a boy on channel 8 who looks like me when I was 10. The resemblance was uncanny.

Q9: how many?
- I want 3. And I don't have a wife yet so I don't know how many she wants. Lolx.

Q10: would you ever consider adoption?
- yup, if somehow (touch wood x99999) there's a problem. I wouldn't mind a mixed blood. Eurasian-Japanese sounds good.

Q11: if someone likes you now, what is the best way to let you know of her feelings?
- erm, know me before liking me. I might not be the prince that saves you. reading my blog and seeing whether I'm suitable would be a good start. the rest will come naturally.

Q12: do you enjoy getting into relationships?
- it's not a matter of getting into it, it's a matter of staying in it. I like staying in one, and not move around like a crocodile (buaya).

Q13: honestly, what is the furthest thing you and your ex did?
- do I even have an ex?

Q14: do you believe in love at first sight?
- kinda. when she can make me go haba-haba at melt my heart with her every word. someone once made me feel that way. =)

Q15: are u romantic?
- a diehard. ask jerome and ben.

Q16: do you believe that you can change someone?
- relying on my own strength, not really. relying on God, definitely.

Q17: if you could marry someone, where would it be?
- Switzerland, because that's probably where I'll be when I'm 25-28. Paris sounds good too.

Q18: do you easily give in when fighting?
- tough stuff. I'm quite a proud person, even when I'm in the wrong. =P

Q19: do you have feelings for someone right now?
- yes.

Q20: have you ever wished you could have someone but messed it up?
- not really. most of the time, the person I like messes it up. XD

Q21: have you ever broken a heart?
- nope. no one will like me la..

Q22: if one day your best friend fell in love with the person you are deeply in love with, what would you do?
- talk it out with my best friend. but I only have one best friend, and he's attached for 5 years now. I don't think he would leave his gf for the person I like. Lolx.

Q23: are you missing someone right now?
- yes.

Q24: five people to do this tag.
- jerome
- jerald
- eq
- janine
- jeslin

Was There A Difference?

Before I write anything more, I really wondered if there was any difference in these 2 photos. And this thought has been with me for a long time now.

Yes, I chose not to go to church again. It was not because I couldn't, but rather a question of whether I wanted to or not. I went back to sleep after 11am after the decision not to, and was woken up by a series of smses. Something I will never forget for the rest of my life.

~ while in dreamland ~

*beep beep* (ringtone of sms)

~ drifts back to dreamland without reading ~

*beep beep* (another ringtone)

"hmm.. double send.. this person just wasted one sms.."

~ doesn't read and stays in dreamland ~

*beep beep* (3rd tone)

"this is weird.. this person is wasting money.."

~ almost going back to dreamland ~

and then the barrage happened.

*beep beep*
*beep beep*
*beep beep* (6th now)

"Ok, I got you, I'm reading it now.."

My inbox was filled with smses from different, so no one actually sent a double sms. As I read them one by one, the tone never ceased. Here's the list of what everyone sent me. Starting from the first, and then the rest followed somewhat endlessly.

Aunty Anna: Hi Peter, missed you in church today. When are you returning home?

"home.." (eyes filled with tears)

Pastor Heidi: Hi Peter! We're missing you today! :-) have a nice day!

"don't think so.. I'm rotting at home.."

John Kao: Hey how's ur day today? Never come to church today, miss talking to you lor. :-D Haha..

"I really miss talking to you John, I miss it a huge lot"

Ben Kee: Hey p, tot u comin church, where u?

"Yea.. I lied again.. Couldn't bring myself to tell you that I didn't want to come"

Charlene: May God's grace be with you throughout the day!

"I need it.. I really do.."

Pamela Song: Hey peter.. We miss you.. Come back to church Pls.. Just let ya know WE LOVE YOU! And we want you back..

Oh my.. this sms really really hit me hard. All these weeks, it's been about me asking myself how much I've mattered in DR, whether I even made a difference. And the part about everyone loving me. Is it real? Does everyone really love me?

En Quan: Peter! How's your week? The youths miss you.

"Twin bro.. I'm sorry.."

Joram: Peter... Where r u? Y sooooooooooo long never come arh?

"Because.. it started from a small problem.. and it just got worse.."

Chermaine: Thanking god for everytime I remember you.

Ok. This is the sms that broke me. Many of you don't know about my story and how God sent an angel to talk to me. That angel was Chermaine's mom, Doris. She called me up one day, and I didn't even know who she was. She talked to me about her nephew, someone she was reminded of everytime she saw me. As we talked about personal matters, it was evident God used her to speak to me. She told me how she missed seeing me in Main Service, and how much she would like to see me again. Sadly, she hasn't seen me once since we last talked. I'm sorry Doris.

And Chermaine, if there was one thing I thank God for. It's for giving your mom, you. She shared with me her personal struggles and how much she loves you. I thank God for wonderful moms, because they make that difference in our lives.

Jeslin: Hey peter! Wassup? Haha. Why r u still MIA?! Haha, come back soon. DR MISSES YOU! God loves you and smile always! Jeslin :>

"It's tough to smile in times like these.. I tried.."

Jana: Hey Peter! Where r u? Hope ur hvin a nice dae! Hahaz. Jana

"Not nice not nice.. I would much rather be doing something.."

Rachel: PETE! PETER! PETEY! PETA! PETERY! Hello peter! Wassup homey! Missing in action man.. Peace brotha! Love, peace & joy =D

"I miss the smiles you bring me through your craziness gal"

Janine: Hey handsome! I know you're gonna be flooded with sms, but just wanna let you know that we love you and miss having you around in youth service! Hope you have a good day and good week ahead k! Love! =D

"Do I really make a difference like what Pastor Heidi preached?"

Sin Eng: Hey there. Hasn't seen you for quite a while. Miss you. And God told me He misses you too. See ya soon. Agape

"God.. misses.. me? Agape. Agape.."

Christine: Hey peter.. All of us in church miss u leh.. So long never come to church already.. Next week must come to church arh.. : )

"I want to.. I just.. Haizz.."

Ryane: Yo pete.... How r u man.

"wow.. even ryane.."

Shirley: Shirley here. Harlow! Hope u can join us soon! Godbless

"I hope so too.. Sometimes, we just need to find our identity in Christ. Who we are, what we want to do. Thanks sister, I've missed the times we talked"

Valerie: Hi peter val here. We're missing you here come back soon!

"Did I really make a difference?"

~ smses tone stops ~

So, the tone stops, and I am left stoned in my bed. Tears in my eyes threaten to break out any moment. Who initiated this? To whoever it was, thank you. You don't know how much it means to me. No one ever deserved this, much less me. But still, I got heartfelt words from those I hold dear. The people who made a difference in my life, the reason I am who I am.

My sis is back in church. She is so strong it scares me. The total opposite happened. Just as she got on fire and all crazy for God, her brother stopped. She listens to christian songs wherever and whenever, blasting it at full volume. Her brother, who used to listen only to these, now listens to secular music, and only has one christian song since he reformatted the com a week back.

And as the love poured in from all of you, the most unlikely song played on my media player.

Avalon
Can't Live A Day Without You

Verse 1:

I Could Live Life Alone
And Never Feel The Longings Of My Heart
The Healing Warmth Of Someone's Arms
And I Could Live Without Dreams
And Never Know The Thrill Of What Could Be
With Every Star So Far And Out Of Reach
I Could Live With Many Things
And I Could Carry On

Pre-Chorus:

But I Couldn't Face My Life Tomorrow
Without Your Hope In My Heart I Know

Chorus:

I Can't Live A Day Without You
Lord, There's No Night And There's No Morning
Without Your Loving Arms To Hold Me
You're The Heartbeat Of All I Do
I Can't Live A Day Without You

Verse 2:

I Could Travel The World
See All The Wonders Beautiful To Me
They'd Only Make Me Think Of You
And I Could Have All Life Offers
Riches That Were Far Beyond Compare
To Grant My Every Wish Without A Care

Pre-Chorus:

Oh, I Could Do Anything, Oh Yes
But If You Weren't In It All

(Chorus)

Bridge:

Oh Jesus, I Live Because You Live
You're Like The Air I Breathe
And Jesus, I Have Because You Give
You're Everything To Me

(Chorus)

Well, that pretty sums up everything I'm going through. Good job, good prospects from companies. Everything seems to be going exceptionally well, and at the same time, taking my love and time away from God. I could do anything I want, to pursue what humans would call happiness, but in it all, would I sacrifice my faith? I really don't know.

My sis is crazy for God, she's reaching out for the lost, the backslidden. She knows that she wants God to make her different, so that she can't reach out to those who are also different. And her brother? *sigh*

To all Dunamis Rockers, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. I miss all of you, but I need to get through this phase of my life. Thank you for your smses, I am truly touched and thoroughly grateful.
